Town fielded a young reserve side against West Bromwich Albion for their latest totesport.com game.

It was the visitors who took the early advantage but Town hit back with a goal that Connor Goldson is claiming. Two goals from Tom Bradshaw put Town in the driving seat but Albion hit back in the last 5 minutes to make it 3-2.

There was then a bit of controversy late on when the referee awarded what he saw as a penalty, but no one else in the stadium saw. Albion converted the penalty with what was to be the last kick of the game to take a share of the points.

After the game ShrewsWeb spoke to First Team Coach Stuart Delaney for his thoughts on the game: "It was a very good performance and we were pleased with the way that they went about it.

"Before the game we asked the lads to be the best that they could, work hard, pressure the opposition, make the set-pieces count and they didn't let us down.

"In the reserves we tell the players not to worry too much about mistakes and to go out and try things as that is how they will improve.

"We weren't very vocal from the bench as we have told the players to go out there and make their own decisions, West Brom had a change of formation and we could have shouted on to highlight this but let them see it for themselves and adapt.

"The experienced lads who played were a different class to be honest and that is credit to them and their professionalism.

"It was a youngish side that we had out there, Elliot Turner is an U16 and he came on for Paul Murray, and that will be great experience for them."
