Super Blues Club

We think it is opportune to give some background on the role and purpose of the Super Blues Club.

The Super Blues Club is a fund raising arm of Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

It was formed in 1993 with a constitution that was written by the club.The chairman of the Super Blues has always been appointed by the Chairman of the football club and it is currently life-long supporter Chris Smith.

Since its formation the Super Blues have raised many thousands of pounds each year to aid the club, the vast majority of the money has been designated for specific projects but any other monies go into club funds.Super Blues recently made another donation to the club with part of that money earmarked to improve the television quality around the Greenhous Meadow concourses.

Over the years the membership has grown steadily and now stands at over 400 members who each pay £52 a year.This gives them a number of membership benefits as well at the opportunity to be entered into the monthly prize draws.

Last week the Super Blues members had their first opportunity of meeting with our manager Graham Turner for an informal question and answers session.It was a private meeting that gave the manager the opportunity to answer all questions in an open and frank manner.This event was a great success and it is hoped that there will be more opportunities like this for super blues members in the future.

The club has already this season hosted a successful open question and answer and session in association with the Official Supporters Club which was in part broadcast by BBC Radio Shropshire.We will always consider similar requests from our supporters groups.
