Travel Plan
ROTHERHAM TRAVEL PLAN
For our next home league fixture against Rotherham United on Saturday, 4th September 2010 (kick off 3.00 pm) the full Travel Plan will be in operation as published on the Club's website: www.shrewsburytown.com.
Because of Street Closures and Road Restrictions in Shrewsbury on Saturday, affected by the Street Festival, the route from Town Centre Bus Station to the Stadium has had to be changed. The bus will travel via the Welsh Bridge, Copthorne Road and Roman Road and will not call at The Shirehall. To compensate for this an extra bus will run from The Shirehall to the Stadium. The Town Centre Service will operate two journeys as usual at 13.30 and 14.15 hours.
There is one important change to the published timetable for the North Shropshire Supporters coach.Because of the Wem Carnival and road closures in the town, the supporters coach will run on this occasion as follows:Wem (Edstaston Garage) 12.45; Wem (Main Car Park) 12.50; Hadnall (New Inn) 13.05 and Stadium 13.20.
Bookings in advance should be made through Chris Smith 01952 604742 or Margaret 01939 233026.
A limited number of stadium car park permits are available as well as permits to park at Sutton Grange Nursery. These must be purchased from the stadium no later than Friday, 3rd September.
TRAVEL PLAN 2010-2011
Getting you there …. on time
This Travel Plan has been developed to ensure that visitors can get to and from the stadium as quickly and easily as possible.
SHREWSBURY TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB ENCOURAGES SUPPORTERS TO WALK, CYCLE OR USE THE PARK AND RIDE ARRANGEMENTS WHEREVER POSSIBLE.
PEDESTRIANS
From Shrewsbury Town Centre, proceed to the English Bridge and at the first set of traffic lights, turn right into Coleham Head. Continue on the main road which is Belle Vue Road and Hereford Road, until you reach the BP Garage on your left, which is close to Meole Brace Roundabout.
From Meole Brace Roundabout or Old Potts Way supporters have a choice of either using the footpaths on either side of Oteley Road or the public right of way from the underpass at the back of Meole Brace Retail Park which gives access to the stadium at the rear of the west stand.
From the Sutton area use the footpath to the traffic signal controlled access road to the stadium.
CYCLISTS
Cycle racks are provided at each corner of the stadium. A guide to cycle routes produced by Shropshire County Council is available from the Club's offices and Council outlets. Further information is also available at www.shropshire.gov.uk/cycling.nsf. A further link - www.transportdirect.info - will assist cyclists to find a cycle route to the Stadium direct from their chosen starting point in Shrewsbury.
Cycling is one of the most convenient ways of getting to and from the stadium. We would encourage you to use a bicycle and at the same time to keep in trim!
MOTOR CYCLES
Parking spaces are available on site for motor cycles. Motor cyclists may also use the Park and Ride and Park and Walk facilities highlighted elsewhere in this Plan.
