This Travel Plan has been developed to ensure that visitors can get to and from the stadium as quickly and easily as possible.

SHREWSBURY TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB ENCOURAGES SUPPORTERS TO WALK, CYCLE OR USE THE PARK AND RIDE ARRANGEMENTS WHEREVER POSSIBLE.

PEDESTRIANS

From Meole Brace Roundabout or Old Potts Way supporters have a choice of either using the footpaths on either side of Oteley Road or the public right of way from the underpass at the back of Meole Brace Retail Park which gives access to the stadium at the rear of the west stand.

From the Sutton area use the footpath to the traffic signal controlled access road to the stadium.

CYCLISTS

Cycle racks are provided at each corner of the stadium. A guide to cycle routes produced by Shropshire County Council is available from the Club's offices and Council outlets. Further information is also available at www.shropshire.gov.uk/cycling.nsf

Cycling is one of the most convenient ways of getting to and from the stadium. We would encourage you to use a bicycle and at the same time to keep in trim!

MOTOR CYCLES

Parking spaces are available on site for motor cycles. Motor cyclists may also use the Park and Ride and Park and Walk facilities highlighted elsewhere in this Plan.

PARK AND RIDE SITES

There are three park and ride sites situated at The Shirehall (Abbey Foregate); The Shirehall Overflow Car Park, and Harlescott Park and Ride Site.

Buses will operate from 13.00 from these sites. The last service to the stadium will be at 14.30. After the match the car parks will remain open for one hour only. Vehicles left in the car parks after this time may not be able to be removed until the following day. Therefore, please, ensure that you remove your vehicle in good time.

Parking at these sites is FREE. Supporters will be charged £2.50 per person for the return journey. IF YOU LIVE NEAR A PARK AND RIDE SITE YOU CAN TRAVEL ON ONE OF THESE BUSES TO THE STADIUM AT THE SAME COST.

Please be mindful of people living near the park and ride sites and please take home your litter.

If a particular car park is full please seek alternative parking at one of the sites listed below.

A. The Shirehall, Abbey Foregate (2.7 miles from stadium)

Entrance to this site off Abbey Foregate only. From the A5 (East and Westbound); A49 (south) and all other main routes into Shrewsbury take the A5064 along London Road to the Column roundabout. Take the third exit from the roundabout and the first turning right into the Shirehall car park.

B. The Shirehall Overflow Car Park, London Road (2.7 miles from stadium)

Follow directions to London Road as above. Before you reach the roundabout the car park is on your right-hand side. Proceed to The Shirehall main car park for the bus.

C. Harlescott Park and Ride Site, Harlescott, Shrewsbury

Follow the signs 'Harlescott Park and Ride'.

PARK AND WALK

D. Sutton Grange Nursery, Oteley Road

Parking on this site is organised by the Club and is available to PERMIT HOLDERS ONLY. Vehicles will be required to turn left on leaving the site. Applications for permits can be made to the Football Club at least 24 hours before the match.

E. The Brooklands Hotel

Parking fee is £5 per vehicle to be handed to the car park stewards for which a car park ticket will be given and must be displayed in a prominent position in the vehicle. Vehicles will be required to turn left on leaving the site.

An express bus service will run at regular intervals from the town's bus station direct to and from the stadium starting at 13.00. The last bus to the stadium will be at 14.15. The return service will start from the Stadium immediately after the game.

SERVICE BUSES FROM SHREWSBURY AND AREAS OF THE TOWN - operated by Arriva. Timetable information from Traveline 0871 200 22 33 or www.arrivabus.co.uk.

* Service 24, 25, 25a from Brixton Way, Harlescott via Town Centre Bus Station and Meole Brace (Moneybrook Way). Every 15 minutes. Return journey from top of Moneybrook Way.

* Service 26 from Shrewsbury Bus Station to Meole Village. Runs every 30 minutes.

* Service 20 from Shrewsbury Bus Station to Reabrook via Old Potts Way. Runs every 30 minutes.

* Service 544/546 from Shrewsbury Bus Station to Lyth Hill stopping at BP Garage and Sainsbury's. Hourly service.

RAIL TRAVEL

The railway station is two miles from the stadium. On leaving the railway station proceed to the bus station (300 yards) to travel on the Express Bus Service or Arriva operated services.

TRAVEL BY TAXI

A taxi drop off area is provided at the Stadium.

ACCESS BY PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Dedicated parking bays are available for registered disabled supporters. Season Ticket parking permits for persons with a disability are available on application to the Football Club. Applicants must be 'Blue Badge Holders' to qualify for a parking bay.

PROHIBITED PARKING AREAS:

OTELEY ROAD (It is illegal to park on grass verges)

(Sutton Road and all side roads are within a controlled parking zone on match days. Only residents with permits are allowed to park on the roads. At all times on match days parking is prohibited. Supporters who ignore the Order will be given parking fines.)

All timings are provided in good faith but may be subject to variance, including due to operational circumstances, traffic conditions, enforced route changes and other factors outside of the Club's control.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PEDESTRIANS, CYCLISTS AND ALL BUSES AND COACHES WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY OVER CARS WHEN LEAVING THE STADIUM.


Travel Plan

Town have worked closly with the liason group to produce a comprehensive travel plan for the new stadium.

The club is restricted to 670 parking places at the new stadium and this means that there are no spaces available for fans to park at the stadium. 

Any parking is strictly controlled by permits and if you do not have a permit then please don't try to park at the ground.

The travel plan outlines the different options for parking such as the Park & Ride buses, the Park & Walk sites as well as other express buses from town.
