Shrewsbury Town's Centre of Excellence and CrossbarCoaching are delighted to announce a partnership which will see talented youngsters from within the Crossbar Academy have a pathway to the Football Club's Centre of Excellence. The academy, directed by former Shrewsbury Town defender Gavin Cowan, has developed an excellent reputation within Shropshire for the approach it adopts when working with youngsters.

Shrewsbury Town's head of youth David Hughes was delighted with the partnership. "The objective of the youth department at the football club is to ensure we give local talented youngsters the opportunity to progress and develop that talent, this initiative is another step to ensure we are doing that."

Gavin Cowan was also pleased with the link "It is a great privilege to be recognized for the work we have been doing with children in Shropshire.At Crossbar Academy our ethos is to nurture local youngsters' ability in the hope they will have the chance to move onto the next stage, working with Shrewsbury Town's Centre of Excellence enables us to do this. "

The coaching takes place at the Hadley learning centre on a Monday evening between 5 - 7 pm.
