Paul Hurst returned to manage Salop in January 2024 having enjoyed huge success when initially appointed Town boss in October 2016.

Originally from Sheffield, Paul played most of his football career for Rotherham United making 438 appearances in his 15 years with the South Yorkshire side.

Shifting into management following his retirement from playing, Paul has taken charge of Ilkeston Town, Boston United, Grimsby Town, Ipswich Town and Scunthorpe United before returning to Grimsby in December 2020 and guiding them back to the Football League in 2022.

In his first season at Salop, Hurst steered the club off of the bottom of the League One table and to safety.

Then in his second season, he guided us to a third-placed finish in League One and to the play-off final in 2018.

That year also saw a second trip to Wembley as we headed to the home of football to contest the EFL Trophy final.

Hurst returned to the club alongside his assistant Chris Doig.
