Shrewsbury Town travel to Oakwell on Easter Monday to take on Barnsley FC in the Sky Bet League One. Kick-off is at 3pm.

On Friday, Shrewsbury fell to a 3-0 defeat against Peterborough United at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Barnsley’s trip to Burton Albion also ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Tykes. Nicky Cadden pulled one back in the 89th minute, but it was too late to rescue a point for Michael Duff’s side.

The sides have met 43 times before, with Shrewsbury winning 13 of those, losing 21 and drawing nine. In November, Barnsley won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

One to watch: Devante Cole

With 13 league goals and one in the FA Cup, Devante Cole is top scorer for the Tykes this season. He joined Barnsley on a three-year contract in June 2021. Before this, Cole was playing in the Scottish Premiership for Motherwell FC in the 2020/2021 season. Here, he finished as the club’s top scorer with 11 goals in 27 appearances in the league.
