Shrewsbury Town played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with promotion-chasing Derby County at Pride Park.
The home side took the lead through a Haydon Roberts wonder strike in the 20th minute.
The Rams doubled their lead just before the break as David McGoldrick entered the box and slotted the ball under Marko Marosi.
Shrewsbury came out galvanised in the second half and pulled one back in the 49th minute through a Tom Bayliss free kick from 25 yards out.
Town were hungry for a second and they got it in the 72nd minute as Luke Leahy converted from the penalty spot.
Steve Cotterill named an unchanged starting line-up from the team that secured a 2-0 win over Wycombe last weekend.
Sticking with a 3-4-1-2 system, Tom Bayliss was deployed in the number 10 role with Christian Saydee and Ryan Bowman the front two.
Derby lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation that saw the Rams' top scorer David McGoldrick in the centre-forward position.
It was Town who created the first chance of the game when Leahy did brilliantly to switch the play and find Taylor Moore.
He then drove at the Derby defence before flashing a low drive narrowly wide from 20 yards.
Derby created their first opening in the eighth minute when Tom Barkhuizen whipped in a dangerous cross from the right.
That was met in the air by McGoldrick but his header sailed over the bar.
The Rams went on to open the scoring in spectacular fashion just past the 20-minute mark.
The ball fell to Roberts on the edge of the box and he produced a stunning strike to arrow the ball into the top corner from 25 yards.
From that point on, the half proved a keenly contested affair with Town defending well and looking to hit the hosts on the break.
But just before the break, Derby doubled their lead when Roberts played a long ball forward that Knight flicked into the path of McGoldrick.
He then entered the box before slotting the ball under Marosi and in.
Cotterill opted for a change of personnel and system at the break, with Bowman making way for Rekeil Pyke, and Carl Winchester entered the fray for Jordan Shipley.
Town went with a 4-3-3 formation as Pennington moved to right-back and Moore to left-back.
Winchester came in as a defensive midfielder and Leahy and Killian Phillips played ahead of him.
Pyke came in as a left winger and Bayliss moved wide to the right wing for Saydee to lead the line.
Shrewsbury earned a free kick from 25 yards out in the 49th minute with set-piece specialist and Derby County fan Bayliss standing over the ball.
The midfielder sent his effort into the bottom left corner to beat Wildmsith at his near post to pull a goal back for Town.
Salop nearly brought the game back level a few minutes later through a corner which Bayliss took.
Pennington rose highest in the box and sent his powerful header aiming for the bottom right corner, but Derby's number one, Joe Wildsmith, managed to get down and make a save.
10 minutes after the restart, Town had another opportunity from a Bayliss cross.
The home side cleared the immediate danger, but the ball was only sent as far as Moore, with the versatile defender getting a shot off from inside the box, but Wildmsith saved.
In the 72nd minute, Shrewsbury were awarded a penalty by Simon Mather when Leahy was pushed in the box following a Saydee cross from the right wing.
The Town skipper stayed calm and converted from the spot to bring Salop level at 2-2.
Town's next chance came when a through ball was played into Saydee in the 75th minute, with the forward holding off a Derby defender.
The 20-year-old hit a powerful shot that looked destined for the far post, but Wildmsith managed to save with his feet.
A minute later, Derby had an opportunity to take the lead with Roberts cutting the ball back for Dobbin.
The forward miskicked, but Knight managed to get hold of the ball and attempted to shoot. Fortunatley, he couldn't adjust his feet quick enough as Town's defence cleared the danger.
Both sides kept pushing for that elusive fifth goal of the game with the two teams having chances, but the defences remained resolute, with Town sending the 2,251 Salop fans back to Shropshire proud of the team's effort.
