Search continues but Gaffer not troubled by transfer deadline day
Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner admits he's not too positive about bolstering his squad with a new signing ahead of the closure of Friday's transfer window.
The boss has made no secret of the fact he would like to bring in another striker but revealed he was not close to completing any deals at the moment.
"We're not overly optimistic about bringing somebody in before the deadline," he said. "We know the circumstances of loans after that.
"The criteria we're looking at now, the bar has been raised in terms of the quality and character of players that we want to bring in.
"Some of the ones we're looking at, unfortunately their clubs are saying they should be going to Championship clubs.
"There is money available but I've not seen anyone at the moment who jumps out at me and says he's the one we've got to go after."
