Thousands attend the Greenhous Meadow pre-season event
Town's annual Open Day took place today and has been hailed a great success by the club.
It was a sunny day at the Greenhous Meadow and hundreds of fan's started arriving at the club well before the 10am start of the event.
The new JOMA away shirt was popular as was the chance to watch the first team train on the stadium pitch. The day ended with the players signing autographs and having their photos taken with fans in the Sovereign Lounge for over two hours.
The clubs community development manager Martin James masterminded the event and was pleased with how the day went:”It's been a fantastic day for the club, there must have been over 2000 people attending the day and I think they had a good time.
“I wanted to get all the supporters groups involved this year, they have all been involved and I think it's gone well for them.
“We have got a lovely stadium here and to be able to have everyone inside has been excellent.
“The players and management have been brilliant, I thought they were going to do a light training session but it looked like a full on one. The supporters got the chance to see what goes on in training with lots of different aspects.
“We want people to know what goes one and see what happens as it's their club and we want them to feel part of it.”
