Tickets selling well for Leeds tie

9 August 2012

Over 1000 sold for Capital One trip to Elland Road

Shrewsbury Town will be backed by a big away following when they kick off the new season with a Capital One Cup trip to Championship club Leeds United on Saturday.

More than 1,000 away end tickets have been sold and the club are delighted so many Town fans will be making the trip to Elland Road.

"The response has been excellent with more than 1,100 sold," said Sean Evans, ticket office supervisor at the Greenhous Meadow. "Tickets are available from the ticket office until 5pm on Friday but they can also be collected on request at Leeds United's away ticket office on Saturday.

"Excitement is really building and it's a tremendous start to the season with away matches at Leeds and then Sheffield United.

"Tickets for the trip to Bramall Lane are on general sale too and around 500 have already been sold."

Tickets for the Leeds cup tie are £12 for adults and £6 concessions while for Sheffield United, the club's League One opener, they are priced at £19.50 for adults, £15 concessions and £9.50 for under-15s.

At this moment no tickets will be sold on the day at Sheffield United so we strongly recommend supporters buy their tickets from Shrewsbury Town as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The ticket office at the Greenhous Meadow will be open until 5pm on Thursday and Friday while they can also be purchased by phoning (01743) 273943 and via the club's new online site at
