Experienced scout takes over from Clive Richards
Shrewsbury Town have appointed the vastly experienced Ken Ryder as their new chief scout.
The position became vacant when Clive Richards moved on to a Championship club but manager Graham Turner is delighted to have secured the services of Ryder who had been working for Premier League Norwich City.
"Ken is based in the north west so there are plenty of clubs within his locality," said the boss. "Having previously worked for Swindon, Wolves and Middlesbrough, among others, his network of contacts and knowledge will be invaluable.
"While the coaching staff and myself get to as many matches as we can, any club wishing to progress require a good scouting set up, in particular to cover the non-League scene and the younger players from Premier League and Championship clubs.
"We now have this in place."
