Rodgers, Gayle and Summerfield concern ahead of Crawley trip
Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner is monitoring the fitness of striker Luke Rodgers and defender Cameron Gayle but is hopeful both will be available for Saturday's trip to Crawley.
The boss revealed midfielder Luke Summerfield is also prepared to play through the pain barrier despite the probable onset of a hernia.
"Luke Rodgers turned his ankle last Thursday so he's missed about six days of training," said Graham. "He's not far off joining in and I would hope he will be fit.
"Cameron Gayle has spent the last week or so back at West Bromwich Albion. He's got an injury in a very painful place and he's had trouble with it. It will be touch and go for the weekend.
"Luke Summerfield looks as though he's carrying the start of a hernia. He's able to carry on at the moment and able to work under supervision. He should still be able to play but eventually it looks like he might have to have some surgery.
"Players I've known have carried on to the end of the season with this sort of pain. He'll play with some discomfort but he's quite prepared to do that."
