NSPCC ladies delighted with GM welcome

4 December 2012

The Christmas party season is now in full swing and Shrewsbury Town's busy hospitality staff were delighted to host the annual Christmas lunch for the NSPCC Ladies Luncheon Club for Shrewsbury this afternoon.

Around 100 members of the organisation dined in the Sovereign Suite with Sally Davies, the club's secretary, pleased to be making use of the impressive facilities on offer at the Greenhous Meadow.

"It's three or four years since we've been here as we go to different venues each time, but we always like coming here," said Sally. "It's a fantastic venue and the staff have been very helpful.
"They're provided us with a delicious meal and made the room look wonderful."

Sally added: "We have four lunches a year and are always pleased to welcome new members.

"We organise a Christmas lunch, a spring lunch, a summer lunch in somebody's garded and an autumn lunch.

"We always have a speaker, we have an enjoyable time, and we raise some funds for the NSPCC.

"The NSPCC are starting a new schools' programme which will be very relevant to our area so that children know how to report when things aren't going well for them for whatever reason."

Sally was delighted her members enjoyed their afternoon at the Greenhous Meadow with youngsters from Wellington's Old Hall School opening proceedings by singing some Christmas carols.

Sally said anyone interested in finding out more about the NSPCC Ladies Luncheon Club for Shrewsbury are welcome to contact her on (01743) 891643 or via email at sally@godavies.co.uk
