Subs not used: Ashton.
Good result and a clean sheet, we should be happy but!!
The tempo that we played at was far too slow therefore not allowing us to gain momentum and control the game. Both sides were limited to view attempts in the first half with only Molineux shooting over on 15 minutes and Vale hitting the bar on 26 minutes from a soft attempt was the story of the first half.
Changes at half time slightly changed the tempo but overall a poor slow game throughout summed things up. Burton made one very good save when the Vale striker was through 1v1 and inevitably it was a mistake from the Vale defence to release Sam Molineux through down the right for him to calmly go round the stranded keeper and slot into an empty net for the only goal of the game on 76 minutes.
Overall the boys know they can perform better which they will need to do this Saturday v Hull at the Sports Village (12 noon kick-off) but will increase confidence with another win.
