Doble keen to push on with Town

Youngster looking to make his mark at Town

Ryan Doble is excited about having a new challenge after making the move from Premier League new boys Southampton.

Associated with the Saints for 10 years having joined them as an 11-year-old schoolboy, the South Wales-born striker is now keen to play regular first team football.

"With Southampton doing so well my chances there were limited so it was time to move on and prove myself elsewhere," said Doble. "Hopefully I can do that with Shrewsbury.

"I came here, saw the ground and facilities which are very nice. I spoke to the manager and a few of the players and with it being not too far from home it was ideal really."

Doble now hopes he can push for a regular place in the Shrewsbury side and he's also keen to emerge as a consistent goalscorer.

He said: "Hopefully I'll play lots of games, score as many goals as I can and hopefully progress up the table with the team and take it from there really."

Doble knows one of his new team mates particularly well having partnered Tom Bradshaw for Wales under-21s last season.

"I've played under-17s, under-19s and under-21s and also been involved with the senior squad so I've had quite a lot of experience there," he added.
