Central Reserve League fixtures have been confirmed
Shrewsbury Town have received their reserve team fixtures for the 2012-13 Central League season.
Town will open the campaign against Oldham Athletic at the Greenhous Meadow on Wednesday, August 29.
Graham Turner, the Shrewsbury manager, opted to re-join the Central League this season after playing a series of friendly matches against the likes of Wolves, Coventry and Birmingham last season.
He was under the impression it would be a more localised fixture list and admitted he was disappointed that Town now face an away trip to Hartlepool after a change of approach at the recent Central League AGM.
Graham said: "We dropped out of the league as we were having to play on some quite poor pitches at small non-League grounds often quite some distance from Shrewsbury.
"We decided to re-enter when it looked like there would be a regional league and the fixtures would be closer.
"For whatever reason at the recent AGM things were changed around and we've ended up with a trip to Hartlepool. A journey like that for reserve team football is ludricous.
"But we're in it now and we'll enter into the spirit of things."
