Cameron Gayle joins to bolster defence options

Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner has bolstered his squad ahead of the emergency loan window closing later today by bringing in West Bromwich Albion defender Cameron Gayle.

Gayle, who turns 20 today, progressed from the scholarship ranks with West Brom to sign his first professional contract at The Hawthorns in the summer of 2010.

He joined them as an under-14s player from Crewe Alexandra.

Gayle has been a regular in the Albion reserve team this season.

Town manager Graham Turner is pleased to have brought the player to the Greenhous Meadow.

He said: "We've seen him play a number of times and I'm sure that he will strengthen our squad."
