Graham Turner rings the changes with Matt Richards, Aaron Wildig, Julian Bennett and Jamie Proctor coming into the starting line-up, Rob Purdie, Asa Hall, Luke Summerfield and Paul Parry are the ones who drop down to the bench.
Town got off to the worst possible of starts after the ref award a very harsh handball on the edge of the Town box against Darren Jones, the linesman wasn't giving anything until a lout shout from the home crowd. Charlie Daniels was over the ball with a strong looking Town wall, but as the Bournemouth player struck the kick he kept it low and the wall jumped up to block the expected curl but this allowed the ball to fly low into the Town net giving Weale no chance.
It got worse for Town minutes later after Marc Pugh found space down the left to get a cross past Jones and into the box, Barnard controlled the ball but clearly used his hand but nothing was given, Town then failed to clear their lines and McQuoid found acres of space to strike the ball home from close range.
It was a game of decisions from the officials and just before the quarter-hour mark Mr Kettle was again making decisions that not everyone could see. A ball over the defence saw Marvin Morgan
shoulder bardged by Addison, Morgan went to ground and ref Kettle had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Matt Richards placed the ball and calmly hit a low shot that went in low to the foot of James' right-hand post.
Bournemouth were seeing the lions share of the ball and were playing it around quickly to make Town really work. The visitors though were doing that hard work to make things hard for the homeside but there was a lot of pressure around the Town goal.
Chances were scarce for Town but they were getting some value out of Morgan and Proctor with balls in behind the Bournemouth defence. David James was having quiet time in the Bournemouth goal with only an effort from Helan, Taylor and Wildig. At the other end Chris Weale was the busier keeper and made a string of saves, a double save from Grabban and then Arter and then just before the half-time break Grabban was in on goal but Weale stayed up and managed to stretch out a leg for an important block.
Bournemouth had a couple of good efforts in the early exchanges but the Town goal remained unbreached. Town had a couple of decent half efforts on the Bournemouth goal and were looking t get things back on level terms. They did manage to get the ball into the Bournemouth net after Wildig had threaded a great ball between the home defence to put Proctor in on goal and he finished well, but the linesman had already flagged for an offside.
It was a much more even half with Town seeing a lot more of the ball and Bournemouth weren't looking as dangerous and attacking as they had in the first half. This was probably down to Town working a lot harder in the half to close down and stop the home side from having the ball as much as they had in the first.
Weale was still being called into action and he made a number of good stops early on, he then had a quiet period but remained alert and he had to be after McQuoid put in Arter but the Town keeper was equal to it pulling off a good block.
Graham Turner made his first switch of the evening bringing on Paul Parry to replace Jamie Proctor with 15 minutes to go, Jeremy Helan pushed up alongside Marvin Morgan with Parry going out on to the left of midfield.
