First place at the Ludlow Slow Food group's Damson Day event last weekend
Paul Crowe, Shrewsbury Town's executive head chef, was delighted to take first place at the Ludlow Slow Food group's Damson Day event last weekend.
Paul, no stranger to picking up awards, greatly impressed judges in the competition staged at Orlerton Village Hall to celebrate National Damson Day.
"I made damson jam, damson gin and damson chocolates and then did a duck and damson parfait with some damson brioche and some damson chutney," said Paul.
"There were some really nice entries and it was a good day."
Organiser Catherine Moran, impressed with the quality of Paul's food, said: "The judges were quite simply wowed by the flavours.
"The parfait and shallot chutney and brioche were indescribably good."
