Chef to take part in Hope House Zip Line

Richard Davies, a chef at Shrewsbury Town's Greenhous Meadow stadium, is gearing up for a special charity challenge later this month.

Chef de partie Richard will be doing a 500 foot Zip Line challenge at RAF Cosford on Sunday, September 30 to raise funds for the Severn Hospice.

The 23-year-old from Reabrook, who has worked for the club for nearly three years, has never done anything like this before but he's hoping to raise as much as he can for such a worthy cause.

"Sheena, my sister, has asked me to do the Zip Line challenge with her," said Richard. "One of Sheena's  friends sadly died of cancer last year and Severn Hospice cared for her.

"I'm looking forward to it and it's something a little bit different."

Many of Richard's Greenhous Meadow colleagues have been quick to sponsor him and if you would like to follow suit, contact Shrewsbury Town FC on (01743) 289177 to register your support.

This is the first time Severn Hospice and the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford have teamed up to host a 500 foot Zip Line.

This special event will see participants ziplining from the roof of the Museum, a famous landmark which is shaped like the propeller of a plane.

The views are spectacular and this really will be a day to remember for the lucky few who take part.
