Grandison excited about Notts clash

Defender looking for Town to continue good performances

Powerful defender Jermaine Grandison is confident Shrewsbury Town can continue their bright start to the season at Notts County this weekend.

County, under ex-England defender Keith Curle, are flying high with three wins from their opening four League One matches, but Grandison is relishing the chance to take on the Magpies.

"It's the first time I'll have played there so I'm really looking forward to it," said the former Coventry man.

"We've had a really good start to the season and have shown we can handle ourselves in this division so we've just got to keep it going now.

"Notts County have had a decent start to the season, but from the teams we've played so far we feel we can beat anyone in this division. We're going into games after three points."

Grandison, a key man for Town at right back, added he was looking forward to seeing a few familar faces at Meadow Lane, among them Carl Regan, the defender who joined Notts County during the summer after leaving Shrewsbury at the end of last season.

He said: "I know a few of the players there so it will be good to see them and play against them, but I'm really up for the game and can't wait to play."
