Gaffer hits the 100 game mark at Hartlepool

Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner will reach the milestone of 100 Football League games in charge during his second spell at the helm against Hartlepool United this weekend.

GT, who returned to Shrewsbury ahead of the 2010-11 season, has an impressive record, too, having won 50 of his 99 league games as boss.

He brought up the half century of wins in style with Tuesday's 4-1 success over Coventry.

He has presided over 25 draws and just 24 of his 99 matches as boss have ended in defeat.

Town have scored 147 league goals, with the biggest win a 7-2 rout of Northampton at Sixfields last season, while 98 goals have been conceded.

"That's interesting," smiled Graham when told of his impending milestone and the various facts and figures. "Perhaps that's why I'm still in a job!

"It seems to have flown by but as you get older the years seem to fly by anyway.

"It might be nice to look back on records later on but if you don't produce those percentage of wins you'll find yourself out of work so it's just as well I've got that sort of record."
