Jermaine excited to be facing old club

Popular right-back looking forward to facing Coventry

It promises to be a special night for Shrewsbury Town defender Jermaine Grandison as he faces Coventry City for the first time since swapping the Ricoh Arena for the Greenhous Meadow.

The popular right back graduated from the junior ranks to make seven first team appearances before being allowed to join Shrewsbury.

"It's going to be really good to play against Coventry and see a few old faces," said Jermaine. "I'm just hoping I can do well.

"I was there for 10 years and came up through the youth team so hopefully I can just show them what they're missing really.

"I played a few games for the first team but it didn't work out in the end and I moved on.

"Coming here has kickstarted my career and I'm glad I made the move."

Jermaine now wants to help Town bounce back from Saturday's disappointing home defeat against Scunthorpe, not that he's expecting anything other than a tough game against Coventry even allowing for his former club's slow start to the campaign.

"Coventry are still a big club," he added. "They've not had the best of starts to the season so hopefully we can take advantage of that and go and get the three points."
