There are times in football where you will become embarrassed in your performance and contribution to a match, this was one and although you may think the boys are young and still learning you have to take on board what you are being told and perform the tasks you are set to the best of your ability. Too many times players are making the same basic errors and being clinically punished for them, and at this level it is not acceptable.
The first two goals came down our left hand side with dreadful defending to allow players to run with the ball unchallenged, be able to cross and shoot at will giving Burton no chance with two goals within 4 minutes of each other on 20 and 24 minutes respectively. Our contribution to the first half came from a half chance by Molinuex which went narrowly passed the post and that was it.
Second half we produced one half shot from Evans which never troubled the Walsall keeper and they controlled possession, looked sharper, supported each other better, created and scored two penalties again through unacceptable defending down our left to finish deserved 4-0 winners.
Brief report I know but the players have to have a long look at themselves, be honest, rectify these unacceptable performances and EARN the opportunity they have been given.
