Weale heading home to Yeovil

Keeper looking for successful return to Yeovil

Chris Weale, Shrewsbury Town's consistent goalkeeper, will return to where it all began for him when he heads back to Yeovil this weekend.

Weale was born in the Somerset town and kicked off his career with Yeovil, helping them gain promotion not only to the Football League but also up into League One.

"It's a great club and when I was younger they were the biggest club for me because they were the biggest club in my area," said Weale.

"It's a fantastic club but as you get on in life you see football from a different side of things, from the inside.

"Yes, I still look out for Yeovil's results, but I've been at some fantastic clubs and met some fantastic people. Football in general is my love rather than just one team."

Weale has been impressed with Yeovil's form this season with the side managed by Gary Johnson, a man he previously played under, riding high in sixth.

And he also witnessed first hand the ability within the Yeovil ranks when they ran out 3-1 winners at the Greenhous Meadow in October.

"I was having a look at their team and they were decent when we played them at our place," added Weale. "Gary Johnson gets them playing very aggressive attacking football.

"As a manager he knows how to get a team scoring goals so it will be a tough game and they've got some very good players.

"It will be a good game for us because it will be a good test."
