Wright sidelined with hip injury

10 April 2013

Wrighty back in training next week and GT hopes he'll be involved before the end of the season

Mark Wright is beginning to run out of time to make a late impact on Shrewsbury Town's season - but Graham Turner is hopeful he will resume training early next week.

Wright made his much awaited return from nearly four months out with a knee injury when he was introduced as a late substitute in the 3-0 win over Crawley on Easter Monday.

But he then sustained a hip injury in training which meant the winger was unable to be involved for last weekend's trip to Yeovil.

"Mark Wright had a setback so it will be another week before he's available for training and playing," said the manager.

"He's damaged his hip this time in a collision with one of the other players in training.

"On my report from the medical people it looks like it's going to be another three or four days before he can start training with the rest of the squad again.

"We've got quite a congestion of reserve fixtures to play so there's the chance he might get something in there and maybe an appearance in the last one or two games."
