MK Dons fans day retro shirt day a success

Shrewsbury Town are fully behind the proposal to make retro shirt day an annual event at the Greenhous Meadow.

The idea put forward by shrewsTRUST for supporters to dust off their old replica shirts of various vintage to wear at the MK Dons game on the opening day of the season proved a big success with the Meadow awash with colour.

"The retro shirt day was a great success with so many variations of club shirts from down the years on display," said Martin James, the club's head of community development.

"It all added to the colour and general atmosphere of the first day of a new season.

"The club would back calls for this being an annual event and perhaps supporters have ideas on other activities for our opening home fixture each season."
