“Hopefully the goals will keep coming”

25 August 2013

Two in two delights in-form Bradshaw

Town number nine Tom Bradshaw notched a second goal in consecutive games in a hard fought 2-2 draw with Rotherham at the New York Stadium.

The 21-year-old scored his first goal for almost two years in the victory over Swindon last weekend, and added to that strike with an impressive poacher’s effort against the Millers.

“That’s what the majority of my goals are going to come from, poacher’s goals. To get one of them under my belt was good,” said Bradshaw.

“When we went into the lead for the second time I thought we had it in the bag to be honest, but it just shows a lack of concentration really. We worked so hard today, but it’s just disappointing that we didn’t get the three points.

“I’m happy to be in the team and hopefully the goals will just keep coming.”

Bradshaw admitted that he would’ve taken a point pre-match against a tricky Millers outfit, but ended up disappointed with the draw after twice going in front.

“I think before we came, we might have taken a draw. But I think when you’re 2-1 up you’re always quite bitter about conceding especially after being 1-0 up as well and losing that lead, but overall it’s a good point.

“There’s going to be a lot of teams like this where they put 100+ balls into your box and you’ve got to defend it. Our centre-backs did well because they were just crashing it to Revell in the box. We did well the majority of the game, but to let it slip at the end is disappointing.
“We need to keep our heads held high. We’ve played well, got a point and a couple of goals.”

Spirit is high in the Town camp after a positive start to the season, and a spritely Bradshaw can’t wait to get going again against Coventry next Saturday.

“We’ll go into it with confidence. Everyone’s playing well, I’m scoring and the defence are doing well. Unfortunately we conceded a few goals today but as a team we’re playing well so we’re looking forward to each game.”
