Richards returns as chief scout

Changes to scouting with Richards returning and John Rudge on board

Graham Turner has bolstered his scouting network with the return of Clive Richards as chief scout after a spell working with Championship club Charlton Athletic.

The manager is also pleased to have enlisted the part-time help of long-serving former Port Vale manager John Rudge who until recently was director of football at Premier League Stoke City.

"Clive Richards has come back to us," said GT. "He's based up in the north west, a good area for watching football as there's plenty of clubs around him.

"I've also asked John Rudge to give us a hand with the scouting. He left Stoke in the close season and he's been to a few of our training sessions and one or two games for us.

"He's been to watch us once or twice and we've talked about things.

"He's delighted to be involved in a football club so we're pleased to have people of that quality."
