Taylor targets another Coventry triumph

JT hoping for another double over Sky Blues

The two matches with Coventry City last season produced plenty of happy memories for Shrewsbury Town fans - and Jon Taylor wants to deliver more of the same when the Sky Blues head to the Greenhous Meadow on Saturday.

The 4-1 home win over Coventry last September was Town's joint best win of the season and it was followed by an exciting 1-0 victory at the Ricoh Arena on New Year's Day, the first away success of the campaign.

"I remember the away game and I was buzzing for the fans that day," said Taylor. "Hopefully we can do it again on Saturday.

"It will be another hard game and it's a big game for the fans as well so we'll be going out and working our socks off to show what it means to us. It will be a good game to play in.

"Coventry are a very big name so I'm looking forward to it."

Taylor has been handed a new role in the side by Graham Turner in recent weeks, playing in the hole just off the main striker, Tom Bradshaw at Rotherham last weekend and Akwasi Asante against Swindon a week earlier.

"The gaffer called me in before the Swindon game," said Taylor, pleased to score his first goal of the season at Rotherham. "He said their defensive midfielder had run the last game so he wanted me to stop him from playing.

"It also gave me more space and time to attack so he asked me when I get the ball just to do what I do and run at people and trouble the defenders.

"I thought I did well, linked up well, had a couple of chances and I really enjoyed it."
