Hamstring keeps Dave out of side

New signing Dave Winfield has picked up a hamstring injury that will keep him out of the recogning for around 4 weeks.

The imposing centre back has impressed over the pre-season games but picked pulled up at the end of training on Wednesday.

Early assessment has shown a slight hamstring which will mean a time in the physios room for Dave.

It comes as a blow for manager Graham Turner as he plans for the opening game of the SKY Bet League 1 campaign against MK Dons:”Dave picked up a hamstring injury on Wednesday. The last thing we want is injuries at this late point in proceedings but it looks as though he will be out for a little while, unfortunately.

“We have got the options of Darren Jones and Connor Goldson who can go in there so we have cover at the back.”
