Over £1,000 already bid for Poppy shirts
Bids totalling more than £1,200 have already been received for the special Shrewsbury Town shirts worn by the players in support of the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.
The shirts, worn during the 2-0 win over Sheffield United last month, feature the distinctive poppy motif and are being auctioned to raise funds for the RBL. All bids must be submitted by Tuesday, December 10.
Over 30 different bids have so far been made for the shirts which each have a minimum reserve of £25.
“We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the supporters," said Martin James, head of community development at Shrewsbury Town.
"We have decided that best and final bids are the fairest way to settle things which should be with us for each respective shirt by the deadline of December 10."
These special shirts would make an ideal Christmas present for Shrewsbury Town supporters while at the same time supporting an excellent cause.
The players whose signed shirts are available are Chris Weale, Joe Jacobson, Tamika Mkandawire, Connor Goldson, Dave Winfield, Ryan Woods, Adam Reach, Nicky Wroe, Aaron Wildig, Liam McAlinden, Tom Bradshaw, Luke Summerfield, Jon Taylor, Darren Jones, Dave McAllister and Paul Parry.
