Shrewsbury Town unable to build on Peterborough win
Shrewsbury Town's Futsal side were unable to build on their opening win of the season against Peterborough as they went down 9-3 to a strong Port Vale side.
But there was some good news for Harry Warren's team as they have qualified for the Soccer AM Cup.
Shrewsbury were punished for a slow start by Vale as the Potteries outfit raced into a 4-0 lead inside the opening five minutes, stretching their advantage to 6-0 by half time.
Shrewsbury were much improved in the second half and made their first appearance on the scoresheet when Charlie Warren set up Tom Swain to find the net.
The same combination linked well for Swain to make it 6-2 and then Mathew Simmons sent Jordan Davies through to further cut the arrears.
But Vale then rattled in three quick goals at the other end to end Shrewsbury's hopes of a sensational comeback.
