Joe Nominated For Award

Joe Jacobson up for Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month for November

Joe Jacobson has been nominated for the November Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month Award.  A great recognition of Joe's performances and goals over the last month, and the fact that Joe is the only player nominated who isn't a striker speaks volume of the month that he's had.

The nominations for the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month Award for November are:

Joe Jacobson (Shrewsbury Town) – full-back
Not renowned for his goals, the Welsh defender scored a screamer in the 2-0 victory over Sheffield United and a header in the win at Stevenage to add to typically solid displays at the back as Shrewsbury picked up nine points.

Ryan Lowe (Tranmere Rovers) – striker
An outstanding individual performance with a stunning hat-trick in 5-1 win at Coventry City - a clinical finish, a deft chip and a 30-yard from the touchline. Also scored both goals against Colchester United which made it five in November.

David Mooney (Leyton Orient) - striker
A second nomination this season for the Irishman whose variety of goals – four in November - make him difficult to stop. Two fine finishes at Peterborough United and a beautifully clipped equaliser at Swindon Town secured vital victories.

Joe Garner (Preston North End) - striker
Scored all five of his team’s goals in the four games he played in November, including a wonderfully controlled hooked winner at Leyton Orient, two headers and an unstoppable 20-yarder in the 2-0 victory at Port Vale.

The winners will be announced on Friday December 6 2013

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins
