Ronnie Whelan to speak at Legends night

6 December 2013

Legends Night to be held on Monday 3rd February 2014

Shrewsbury Town will hold their third Legends night early next year when some more key figures from the club's proud past will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

As an added bonus, the event, to be be held in the Sovereign Suite at the Greenhous Meadow on Monday, February 3, will feature former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland international midfielder Ronnie Whelan as the guest speaker.

Comedian Tank Sherman will also be appearing at the black tie event.

"These are always great nights," said organiser Andrew Tretton, commercial sales executive at Shrewsbury Town. "It will be exciting to induct more people into the club's Hall of Fame while both Ronnie Whelan and Tank Sherman will also add much to the evening."

Michael Brown, Frank Clarke, Peter Dolby, Colin Griffin, Tommy Lynch, Ken Mulhearn, Arthur Rowley, Chris Smith, Graham Turner and Alf Wood were the first 10 Shrewsbury Town legends to enter the Hall of the Fame.

Then last year it was the turn of Mal Starkey, Chic Bates, Steve Cross and Jake King to be honoured.

The voting process for the next crop of Legends will shortly be announced so keep an eye on the club website for details of how you can get involved.

Tickets priced £400 + VAT for a table of ten, which include a three-course meal followed by coffee, are now available.

With demand likely to be high, early booking is recommended. A limited number of individual tickets will also be available.

To reserve your place, call Andrew Tretton on (01743) 289177 extension 218 or email him at andy.tretton@shrewsburytown.co.uk
