Shrewsbury & District Breathing Club and Midlands Air Ambulance donations

Shrewsbury Town have thrown their support behind two local charities after staging a successful Motown Evening.

With the help of supporter Ron Brown, a Sovereign Club member at the Greenhous Meadow, the club managed to raise the impressive total of £1,154 from an enjoyable event.

Two cheques each to the value of £577 will now be presented to the Shrewsbury & District Breathing Club and Midlands Air Ambulance.

Andrew Bunton, Shrewsbury Town's hospitality manager, said: "The Motown Evening was a tremendous success and really enjoyed by everyone who came along.

"Special thanks to Ron Brown whose own band, Men in Black, played free of charge and his help went a long way towards helping the night go so well.

"It makes it even better that two local charities can now benefit from the evening as it is always nice to help others in the local community.

"We have more of these social events planned at the Greenhous Meadow, the next a Caribbean Evening on Friday, January 25. Tickets are still available from the club and it's a chance for people to forget the winter blues."

Both charities to benefit from the Motown Evening are delighted to by Shrewsbury Town's support.
