Dave McAllister red card rescinded

28 February 2013

Sending off overturned and McAllister now available for Walsall

Shrewsbury Town have successfully appealed against the red card shown to midfielder David McAllister during Tuesday night's match against Doncaster Rovers.

The Irishman was shown a straight red card by referee Oliver Langford after 36 minutes which left Town numerically disadvantaged against a side now top of League One.

Town quickly lodged an appeal with the FA which was backed up by strong video evidence and the sending off has now been rescinded.

It means McAllister will not face a suspension and will be available for Saturday's trip to Walsall.

"You just feel a little bit bitter towards the referee as the decision may well have cost us a point, perhaps even three," said Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner.

"It was an absolutely shocking decision, but fortunately justice has prevailed."
