Scandinavian supporters branch visiting for Sheffield United game

The Swedish branch of the Shrewsbury Town Supporters Club are heading to the Greenhous Meadow for the attractive home match against Sheffield United this weekend.

The branch, headed by Graham Owen, a Mid Wales exile now living in Stockholm, will enjoy a tour of the ground from Martin James, Shrewsbury Town's head of community development, on Friday before hopefully watching a home victory the following day.

"We're looking forward to welcoming them," said Martin. "They try and come over from Sweden at least once a season and it will be pleasing for them to see their flag up at the back of the West Stand.

"Graham is an enthusiastic Town supporter of many years and it's great that he's enthusing Swedish football supporters to follow the Town as well.

"They are going to have a tour of the ground on Friday to build up the match atmosphere, followed by watching the Sheffield United game on Saturday, so we hope it's an enjoyable visit for all of them.

"We always look forward to welcoming our fans from across the globe here at the Greenhous Meadow.”
