Striker joins Rochdale on permanent deal

Striker Terry Gornell has left Shrewsbury Town to join Rochdale on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee after impressing the Spotland club during a two-month loan spell.

Gornell, 23, has scored five goals in eight games for Rochdale since linking up again with Spotland manager John Coleman, who was previously his boss at Accrington Stanley.

The Liverpool-born forward played a key role in Shrewsbury's League Two promotion season, scoring 10 goals in all competitions, but he failed to find the net in 13 games this season.

His last Town appearance was in the 3-1 defeat at home to Yeovil on October 23.

As with all transfers the move is dependant on Football League and FA approval.
