Weale set for City clash

Keeper looking forward to City test

Chris Weale has no doubts Manchester City's Elite Development Squad will pose Shrewsbury Town with a real test in their final warm up fixture tomorrow.

French World Cup winner Patrick Vieira is bringing City's young guns to the Greenhous Meadow as Town aim to build on their encouraging performances against Bolton Wanderers and Birmingham City over the past week.

"Hopefully they'll play similar to MK Dons who like to play football," said goalkeeper Weale, rested in midweek as Graham Turner gave Joe Anyon a 90 minute run out. "It will be a good test against some good opposition.

"The young Liverpool side we played recently were good. They passed the ball well and had some creative players so hopefully it will be similar."

Weale, impressed with how Town are shaping up, added: "The squad looks very good and our performances have been decent. The second half against Bolton was good and the majority of the game on Tuesday night against Birmingham was very promising.

"Hopefully we can take that into the season and we just need to be as positive and as upbeat as possible."
