Season Review: January

5 June 2013

We take a look back at the 2012/13 season

The New Year could not have started any better for Shrewsbury with an exciting 1-0 win in front of a crowd of more than 15,000 at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena.

Marvin Morgan's goal completed the double over the Sky Blues as Town pulled off one of their most pleasing wins of the season on a day Yado Mambo, a new arrival on loan from Charlton Athletic, made his debut as a late substitute.

Draws followed at Scunthorpe United, with Watford midfielder Stephen McGinn the latest loan man to be introduced to the Shrewsbury side, and at home to backmarkers Hartlepool United before a 2-0 defeat at Swindon.

The Wiltshire club pulled out all the stops to get the game on given heavy snow but Jermaine Grandison finally had to give in to a troublesome hip complaint at half time at the County Ground.

Midfielder Dave McAllister returned to the Meadow on a permanent basis from Sheffield United and the month ended with Town sitting 18th in the table following a goalless stalemate at home to Bury.
