Jacobson ready for Crewe challenge

Town defender hoping for another away win

Joe Jacobson is confident Shrewsbury Town can continue their impressive away form at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

The left back was delighted by Tuesday's 3-2 victory at MK Dons which made it four wins from their last seven away games for Town and now he is hungry for more.

"If we can go and beat MK Dons away, we can go and beat anyone away," he said. "We've shown in also winning at Tranmere, Coventry and Preston that we're good enough to beat anyone away from home.
"If we get our game plan right like we did against MK Dons then we'll have great confidence in going to get three points."

Jacobson has a healthy respect for Crewe and the way they play the game but he is determiend to try and help Town to complete the double over the Railwaymen.

"We beat them earlier on in the season and we beat them at home last season as well," said the Welshman. "I didn't play the away game there last season as I was injured but they always play good football and it's always a good game to be involved in.

"I like playing at their place and the pitch is always pretty decent so it should be a good game of football."

Jacobson agreed that Tom Eaves, who scored twice against MK Dons in midweek, is likely to have another key role to play having been impressed with the striker currently on loan from Bolton Wanderers.

"Tom's a handful," he added. "I've known him from when he was a young lad at Oldham when he was just breaking through and he was exactly the same then.

"He's a big, strong boy and he's got two good feet as he showed at MK Dons. He's been a good signing for us and hopefully we can keep him until the end of the season."
