Change to the company status unanimously passed

Shrewsbury Town Football Club Ltd 

At the Annual General Meeting of the club shareholders today, a special resolution which had been circulated to all shareholders regarding a change to the company status from PLC to Private Limited Company was unanimously passed by all those present.

The case for the move to a Limited Company followed advice from the Club’s solicitors, auditors and financial advisors that as the only PLC club in Leagues One and Two, to review its memorandum and articles produced in 1982, and with some elements dating back to 1936. 

Speaking after the AGM, Roland Wycherley, Chairman of Shrewsbury Town FC, stated: “On behalf of the Board I am delighted that, after full and careful explanation of the reasons for the change in company status, and after responding to questions from the shareholders, the special resolution was unanimously passed.

"I wish to thank the shareholders for their support for this important change and also to the advisors of the club for their hard work in producing the documentation and explanatory notes which have enabled all to understand the reasons behind the necessary change.”
