There was late drama for Shrewsbury Town's youth team as they were beaten 4-3 by Blackpool in a rearranged Youth Alliance clash at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

Town fought back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 going into the last five minutes before the Seasiders staged a late show to take all three points yesterday afternoon.

Winger Jack Gwilliams, who has been on the bench for the first team this season, scored two quick goals at the start of the second half to pull Town level.

Then a fine through ball from David Easthope released Javia Robers to slide a shot under the advancing goalkeeper.

Blackpool pulled it back to 3-3 from a penalty five minutes from time and then grabbed a late winner from a corner to leave Town's youngsters empty handed.

Town face a Youth Alliance trip to Burnley on Saturday before taking on Notts County in a rearranged Midland Youth Cup semi final at the Greenhous Meadow next Tuesday (2pm).
