The “Blooming Great Tea Party” has proved to be a great success with thousands of parties taking place across the country.

Money raised goes towards the essential work of providing the excellent nursing service to cancer sufferers and their families.

Pictured with young Town stars Tom Bradshaw and Connor Goldson is Victoria Hardy who is the community fundraiser for North Wales and Shropshire.

Victoria was excited to meet the players and thanked them and the club for the support given.

Martin James, Shrewsbury Town's head of community development, reflected on the importance of the service organisations such as Marie Curie Cancer care offer.

“Anyone who has suffered from cancer or has a close relative affected will know how reassuring it is to have a health professional there to support you through a very emotional and worrying time," he said.

"I have had personal experience of such a service and will be forever grateful for the kindness and caring attitude of the nurses.”
