Town achieve the FL Family Excellence Award
Shrewsbury Town's community development manager Martin James says the club are delighted to have been awarded the Football League Family Excellence Award for the sixth successive season.
Created in 2007, it recognises the outstanding experience clubs provide for young fans and families at their grounds.
The winners are decided by an independent assessment using ‘mystery shopper’ families commissioned by the Football League at all 72 League clubs during the 2012/13 season.
"We are delighted to be recognised as a club which achieves the Football League family excellence status for the sixth successive year," said Martin.
"We are one of only eight of the 72 Football League clubs to have achieved this feat. The Awards themselves come about as a result of reports from mystery shopper families who attend two matches, one in each half of the season.
"They report on areas such as finding out information and first impressions of the club, their travel experience, the immediate stadium vicinity, the club shop, refreshment availability and quality, the welcome given by staff inside the stadium and formulate their overall family impressions of the club.
"Once again we have received excellent feedback and this is great credit to the staff who work hard to make the match day experience pleasurable.
"There is no room for complacency and as a club we are looking to continually improve the matchday experience for fans in all areas of the stadium including the away supporters.
"Feedback and suggestions are always welcome from the supporters to enable this to happen. Where we make changes we need to know that they are making a difference to the supporters."
