Jermaine Set For Operation

Surgeon to Operate on troublesome hips

Jermaine Grandison is set to go under the surgeon’s knife on Tuesday as he looks to get over the hip problem that has been troubling him in recent months.

It has been affecting him since the start of this year and he has been under the supervision of one of the best hip specialists in the country.  Jermaine revisited the specialist a couple of weeks back and it has now been decided that he will need the operation.

He goes into hospital in Cambridge on Tuesday for the first of two operations that will see the surgeon shave off a spur of bone in each hip and tidy up cartilage in the surrounding areas.

Speaking to ShrewsWeb on the 9th of May manager Graham Turner revealed that such an operation could see Jermaine out of action for up to six months.  This would mean that Jermaine could be missing from first team selection up until before Christmas of the 2013/14 season.
