FA Youth Cup: Town v Histon

4 November 2013

Youth side travel to Histon tonight in Frist Round proper

Shrewsbury Town travel to Cambridgeshire tonight to take on Histon in the First Round of the FA Youth Cup, kick-off 7:45pm.

Bernard McNally faces a whirlwind first day in the job as new Head of Youth Coaching, replacing the outgoing Wayne Evans, with the trip to the Glassworld Stadium in Youth football’s premier domestic tournament.

Town fell at this stage last season, being edged out in a 4-3 thriller by Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena, whilst Histon navigated their way to the fourth round with victories over Bury Town, Crawley Town and Bradford City before eventually succumbing to the might of Liverpool.

The winner will face either Camberley Town or Bristol Rovers at home in the second round, meaning the Youth side will grace the Greenhous Meadow turf later this month if they are victorious over The Stutes.

Tickets for tonight’s clash at Histon are £5 for adults, £3 concessions and £2 under 12’s.

Tune in to our social media platforms on Twitter @shrewsweb and Facebook /ShrewsburyTownOfficial from 7:30pm for full match updates live from the Glassworld Stadium as Town Youth begin their FA Cup odyssey.
