Pitch encroacher and missile thrower at Sheffield United game charged

At the Shrewsbury Town v Sheffield United fixture on Saturday 2nd November, incidents occurred in home areas of the Greenhous Meadow ground which were subsequently reported to the FA.

Following close work on the day and further actions/enquiries by the club and Shrewsbury Police since this fixture, it can be disclosed that two individuals have been charged and bailed to court for offences ranging from pitch encroachment, possession of a firework and throwing a missile towards the pitch. Football banning orders will be applied for and the process for club bans started.

Shrewsbury Town will not tolerate this sort of behaviour and will continue to work with the police in ensuring that the Greenhous Meadow is a safe place for fans to attend.

The club will do all it can to identify those people who commit offences inside and outside the stadium, whether it be on the day of the fixture or at a later date.

We hope all supporters will support the Club in this action and condemn the actions of anyone whose actions and behaviour fall below those expected of Shrewsbury Town supporters.
